New facility - Covid 19 - Etc
Hello all,
I hope that you are doing well today, and you and your family are safe and sound.
With Covid-19 some plans have of course been pushed back. The new training facility is not going to open until after we have been given the all clear. I decided to do this even if the City of Atlanta had not put a moratorium on the opening of all gym/health facilities within it’s environs. This felt like the correct thing to do as we all have those who may be at most risk in our lives.
What this means for the new facility? Well it will still be there when we are able to train. I would like to thank
David the Third
Veronica
Thomas
Marcus
McKenzie
Jonathan
Bradley
Kate
Symerly
and Samantha ( sic )
for all of their help up until now. Kate and I are going to continue cleaning the place up and getting it ready for training. It is actually a lot easier to maintain social distancing in an empty warehouse than you would think! All going well it will be shiny when you come back to training.
As you may have noticed, the website is now changed both in format and logos to reflect the changes in the club. It is not finished as I have a lot of pictures to take to fill in the old artwork currently acting as placeholders. However, the form is essentially where it will remain. I hope it is easier to navigate and understand.
The name of the club is officially changed as you know to Atlanta Historical Fencing Academy. So from now on please use this whenever you sign up for events and tournaments. I will be getting new t-shirts, etc with the new name and logo (including one with a nice retro feel logo that Jonathan made). Those with OG Freifechter stuff are more than welcome to continue wearing them. The Fox is not going anywhere.
Lastly, I am looking into things that we can do to continue training over the next few weeks. Please pay attention to the FB group for updates on those.
If you have any questions or comments please let me know.
