SERFO 2022 February Update

Bad News:

Due to several reasons, one of which of course being Covid !9, our original venue for SERFO 2022 has fallen through. So our desire to change the format to an all inclusive staying on site style event is not possible. We are seeing if we can do this for 2023, but it is definitely not happening for 2022.

This does make us a little sad as it was a change we were looking forward to doing.

Good News:

We have another venue in the works. It is a venue we have been at previously and really enjoyed working with. Until that is finalized I am not going to say much more. We should know if we have the dates we want next week. These should be the same as previously on June 10-June 12th.

Once the new venue is finalized registration shall open immediately. Knocking on wood that shall be this time next week!

News News:

What this means is that we are reverting back to our usual system of holding SERFO. It will be a tournament focused event with a main guest Instructor who shall have workshops on the Friday and the Sunday.

We are looking to lengthen SERFO though to make it a true 2.5 day event. So we will be having tournaments on the Friday afternoon, as well as the usual on Saturday and Sunday. This is too help us free up time on Saturday and give us a little more breathing room. As those who come to SERFO know the event is a bit of a sprint. So hopefully this will make it less breakneck.

The tournament list is the same as listed previously:

  • Women’s Longsword

  • Open Longsword

  • Franco Belgian Rapier

  • First Blood Rapier

  • Conventional Rapier

  • Sword and Buckler

  • Super Secret Invite Tournament not any of the above weapons….

As always you can enter as many tournaments as you would like. There will be some soft participants limits placed on the tournaments but normally this is not an issue.

Price will return to the same level as previous SERFOs. We have not yet decided how much it shall cost as we are waiting on venue cost, etc. However, expect it to be below $100.
